Richard Rawlins

Richard Mark Rawlins (b. 1967, Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago) is an artist based in Hastings, UK. A graduate of the Royal College of Art (2019), his work explores Caribbean identity, colonial histories, and diaspora politics through a transnational lens. He was selected for the RBSA and Trinity Buoys Wharf Drawing Prizes (2023) and has participated in notable projects like the World Reimagined Project (2022) and site-specific works for the Hospital Rooms arts and mental health organisation (2021-22). His exhibitions include We Out Here, Hastings Contemporary (2023), The Human Touch: Making Art, Leaving Traces, The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, (2021) Breaking Bread, Broadway Gallery (2022), and Get Up Stand Up Now at Somerset House (2019). His work is in collections including the Art Collection of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, Port of Spain, the Wedge Curatorial Collection (Toronto) and the Soho House Collections (London/Brighton/Oxfordshire).
